Built mine per plans. First flight 1984, 1476.5 hours logged to date. 30, 45, and 90 degree deployment. In the 90 degree position its awfully close to terra firma, so ?30? in the pattern, ?45? short final, and ?90? if I?m too hot. I learned decades ago earning my ticket in a Piper Warrior that flaps adds a little stability at low airspeed, and you can see down the runway a little longer during the final flare.
