Belly flap, is not in the true sense, a flap. As I understand it, a flap will give you lift and drag and a belly flap/belly board/speed brake, just gives you drag. It is good to give you a better view of the runway without picking up too much speed. With flaps, you will get both, but from the research I have done, you will not get very much of a lower air speed. If I recall correctly, the most I have heard is 5 MPH and the least is better than 2 MPH. If just putting flaps on the center section stub wing, you may get as much as 3 MPH.
