I don't think larger tail surfaces would be as effective (assuming a reasonable length), but would be at least ten times quicker and easier! I suspect part of Stef's incentive was to get it "classified" as an S in his country, which would allow him to have a higher gross weight, perhaps. That's a guess. If I had a flying or near-flying KR2 and was worried about pitch sensitivity, I'd make the tail surfaces larger. But then that's because I feel like I have the KR figured out. I'll be the first to admit that a stock KR2 is a whole different ball game than N56ML though. Stef was at a point where he could extend the fuselage before all the details were finished, and without repainting the plane, so I'm sure it made sense for him.
