Great story. I am reminded of my early flight lessons in Lima, Peru,... in a Stearman. The instructor was a friend and graduated in early 1945 from flight training with the German Air force as a 16 year old. The Germans were desperate then. I am still friends with that man and we still contact almost weekly via internet. I am old enough to have had father and many friends participate in WW2. During the war I would cut out pictures from Life magazine of fighter aircraft for my scrap book.
