Brad, Sorry for your loss, glad to hear the pilot is fully recovered. Good summary and pictures to help understand the accident. The NTSB report is curious, vapor lock? What were the temperatures in May when the 1st flight was done? I seem to recall it was a pretty cool May, at least around my area it was. Maybe something else in the report to indicate a cause for the vapor lock?
Since the airplane flew before with you in it, even if only shortly - it seems the plane should have been capable. I wouldn't think the Taildragger to Trigear conversion would have caused a huge change in performance. Look forward to seeing you at the KR Gathering. I have several pictures and some comments on the integrity of the design, at http://www.krnet.org/krs/bankerstar/. I expect to attend the gathering again this year, by car. I need at least one more to wean myself from the KR dream. I expect to have several metal parts for sale when I get there. All of them are visible in at least one of the pictures. The engine, and most instruments, will go to a new project, probably an Aerosport Quail. Brad Ankerstar
