"Oil temp 251 degrees F . . ." If I get to 240? I do something about it . . . nothing kills a VW (or any engine) like excessive heat. You've got a cracked case in your future if you keep that up. Hopefully your gauge is reading high - much better than reading low and not being aware of it.
