Never use a single ad as a guide to what an engine is worth. The
price on any given 0-200 can vary by $10,000 high to low. The low
end is a run out engine with worn out accessories and the high end is
a complete overhaul from a reliable shop. You can spend several
thousand dollars just replacing or rebuilding missing or worn out
accessories. Watch the market for months, checking out every engine
for sale, comparing total time, accessories, condition, and
accessories and their condition. When it comes to $800 cylinders
(each), carbs, starters, etc, a good deal might turn into a boat
anchor in a heart beat.
