Excellent!
That is one of the best 1st flight video's I've seen. Lots of data available to review post flight from both the cockpit view and voice recording. I'd say your airspeed indicator was probably pretty close, it looked like is was tracking as the airplane was slowing down for the landing. I may be wrong. I do recommend a GPS in the cockpit to confirm airspeed during any flight, it will be within reason based on wind. I started a take off once and had a low indication, but because I could tell immediately from the GPS I was getting the right velocity I continued. Used the GPS to make sure I had minimums for landing and it really was a non-event. I found one of my tubes had split to the airspeed leaking air. Ed reports the flaps are very effective, he expected to float way down the runway as fast as he was. I think the combination of flaps and the extended gear legs work together to reduce float (it's my story and I'll tell it any way I want). Taxi visibility is bad but it sure looks cool. Thanks KRnet for all the great discussions and ideas! I'm going to try to make the gathering but it doesn't look like it'll be this year.
