Todd, Hopefully I can help. I have a plans built system. The rod bearings provide some but only limited movement up and down. To reduce the binding I added a small standoff to drop the forward rod end a little bit. I also found that I had to add a slight bend to the rod which was the final trick. I copied this from another KR I saw at one of the gatherings.
