Indeed the plane is very nice!

The landing was dumb luck. I quizzed Pete on speeds, rpms and flap
settings and made a single sheet list for reference and followed it. I
had a hard time judging my altitude and was way to low. Part of it was
that I carried over some reference habits from flying a Sonerai. The
KR canopy has some distortion near the lower edges and out of habit I
was trying to use the same view as a reference.

I was just trying to land on the numbers with the plane set up as Pete
described. When the wheels touched I was surprised. I thought I still
had a few feet to go.
