Mark Somehow I don't see me dealing with that much snow or ICE I lived in MN a couple winters and found you folks have two seasons Winter and the 4th of July... A suggestion for the bottom of a door freezing down. On my overhead doors that use a rubber seal on the bottom, I replaced them with a hollow rubber seal and inserted one of the heat tapes through this opening. The control is attached to the door and an extra long drop cord is then attached so it will allow the door to open and close without unplugging the cord. It is sometimes necessary to swing the extra cord out of the way when the door is closing. It uses the same amount of a small bulb and only warms it sufficiently to keep the door from freezing down... However I am in Iowa a bit warmer. jw
