I know, last year I tried to test and push some of them to Kopete. I
pushed some of them and I am testing two that I have not pushed because they
still need some work:

https://svn.reviewboard.kde.org/r/2542/ Show emoticons in contactlist: we need
to implement a cache for Kopete::Emoticons::tokenize otherwise it is pain slow
when we toggle show/hide all users in Kopete.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139007 more "reponsive" file transfer
suggestion: the patch attached to this bug works, but sometimes it does not. I
have not had time to debug why it sometimes does not work.

I am also using two patches I created to fix some small problems: one
to
make nowlistening plugin show track info only when the player is in playing
state, currently it shows the track info in pause state too. The other makes
Kopete do not add groups without names in the contact list. I used to have
dozens of grups without names there. Those two changes seems to work pretty
good I can push them.

I agree with you. I used to do that, now I do not have much time for
it.
You can test them and comment in reviewboard, if you think any are Ok I will
test them here as well. Do you have a KDE developer account? If not then I can
push them.
