Since some users complained about that situation on the jabber.org ML, the 
admins are really trying to communicate a lot more. They are heavily using 
identi.ca/twitter to announce restarts of the service. This happened quite a 
lot in the last days. Also the blog on jabber.org is used to communicate, what 
is happening and I appreciate these efforts.

No, at the moment, jabber.org is experiencing difficulties during their switch 
to another jabber daemon. That is, why they are asking us to test the new 
service and I know they asked to test it with other clients, as well.
