I think it's a good idea to replace the popup/message boxes into
notifications. I said notifications, not a full plasmoid, basically because
2 things:
- We don't want to depend on Plasma (e.g. a XFCE might want to use Kopete).
- We are already using KNotification for that and works great. Plus it's
being integrated with other desktop notification layers.

I can understand that you want to have some integration with plasma. I think
we already have some, at least to see who is connected and so, never used
myself so that's all I can say about it. I'm afraid that here you would end
up by creating a new interface for Kopete using plasma and I'm not sure you
want to do that.
