when i try to have a buddy icon, it works for a minute or so (my contacts see
my icon) but afterwards it just doesn't show up any more (my contacts ask me
where my icon disappeared). when i disable "send buddy icons to other users",
then apply, then enable "send buddy icons...", my contacts see my icon again,
for a minute or so, then the whole thing starts again.
