I suffer from this too.
Also dialog 'The selected buddy icon can not be opened' should show more
information: which user's icon has a problem. And it should suggest the
available icons, not just show the text.
Also I submitted the related bug that this dialog shows up many times one over
another, and once at a time is enough:
