Not really - Kopete is designed for a single user, and to explicitly combine 
contacts where possible - not to separate them.  Your children can always 
separate contacts into different folders manually.

Yes, that is the default.  You can reenable it with Settings->Showw Offline 
Users

Enable the History plugin and then you can read the logs by right clicking on 
a contact and selecting History.

If the History plugin is 'enabled' but this item is not visible, disable and 
reenable it - this bug was fixed quite recently.
