The Bonjour Protocol (described here:
http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/attic/jep-0174-0.5.html#nt-id2257435)

requires that one listens on a local socket (usually port 5298, which
can be grabbed without root)

Unfortunately, IPTables sometimes blocks access from external hosts
connecting to that port.

Does KDE have any procedure to tell the local firewall to let packets
through? I know pidgin does it somehow.
