I wrote a patch to Kopete which allows to copy contact's away message to the clipboard. It may be useful when the away message contains some link which you'd like to visit. Second modification refers to changing own away message. The previous message is written in message field so you can edit it. It allows to a write new away message by modifying the previous one.
Usage: patch -p1 < path_to_patch_file in Kopete source directory. I've tested it with the 0.12.2 version and yesterdays SVN, so it should work for every version beginning from 0.12.2.
