Sitting on my hands, not very well informed about kopete, haven't seen much code yet, still I have an insignificant and humble opinion. Some of you who have read kde-planet and kde-devel over the year must have stumbled upon the concept of stylesheets in Qt4. http://aseigo.blogspot.com/2005/10/qt4-svg-and-ksvg.html http://doc.trolltech.com/4.2/stylesheet.html http://zrusin.blogspot.com/2006/08/magic.html And so on. In the beginning of the thread I thought I am too much of an outsider to come busting in with a statement like this, but isn't it quite an unnecessary effort to create bitmap based design customisation for kopete when we will soon have all that hardware accelerated stuff? Also if you google on "Aaron Seigo plasma" you'll find lots of discussion about why we shouldn't go making fake transparencies with bitmap manipulation and so on. KDE4 will be way cooler than that. Use akregator and read planet KDE, there is a lot of cool reading about these things coming down that feed. Sorry for the "don't you know this and don't you know that". I am no great contributor myself so maybe I should really just be quiet... -- Jonas Widarsson _______________________________________________ kopete-devel mailing list [email protected] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kopete-devel
