From my point of view it was a bit tricky since the QTreeView was child of the parent window, instead of the QSplitter. The QSplitter wasn't into the d-pointer and some other reasons. Maybe the way I've wrote it is more efficiently and more clear, for that reason I thought it was better to start another "from scratch" (well, it does use some methods from the old one, and will use more I think [maybe for dependencies]), because changing that code would be less clear for maintaining it.
Anyway, if you want me to stop coding on this file, please tell me before I do more advances. ;)
