Regarding the action template in Adium, after 1.0 (i.e. in 1.1) if everyone likes it then that sounds like a plan.
Overall if we (Adium folks) can get standardization between any other clients I think we should hop onto that. For anyone interested, Colin made a mailing list for the Universal Log Format: http://groups.google.com/group/ulf-discuss I think it would be beneficial if both clients kept the message style format so that they can be used in either. I've seen reports on the Xtras site that message styles that are from Kopete folks tend to not work. Nothing substantiated, but it does show that we need to come up with a plan on it if there isn't one already so that message views work between the two clients.
