Howdy yall! Are accruing fines required in Koha? I'm looking at the system preferences:
CalculateFinesOnReturn : (Currently set to DO) finesMode : (Currently set to Calculate and charge) Fines mode also has the note "NOTE: If the cronjobs/fines.pl cronjob is being run, accruing and final fines will be calculated when the cron runs and accruing fines will be finalized when an item is returned. If CalculateFinesOnReturn is enabled, final fines will be calculated when an item is returned." To me, this reads as the fines.pl cron job doesn't actually *need *to run on a regular basis. So I assume the behavior would be that nothing accrues on the patron's account until the item is checked in. Is this correct? Or does everyone just live with accruing fines on the patron record?
