Hi, I realized from this thread and the email exchange with Mercedes, that the value builder for linking records is not very well known. I started to file a bug, only to realize I had done it before already, suggesting that we add the plugin to the default frameworks. I really think it would make it more visible/discoverable:

Several of the records in the list of RDA records that I mentioned in my previous email have 78X linking fields (e.g., between hardcopy and online versions). The 78X fields have long been used between related serials/periodicals, also.
