Hello Fred, I have no idea what means the "is transient or generated." error. But you should make sure koha-common is started.
The wiki is wrong (I will edit it). There is no more --use-memcached option (to koha-create), it's mandatory now. Do you manage to access the interface? If so, go to the about page and confirm there that memcached is configured correctly.
