I upgraded the Koha already to version 3.16.4, but the problem is still there. So, I tested the earlier database backups of koha 3.14 in a different machine having Koha 3.14 and there is no such problem with searching. So, from the test, I can say that either the database is not upgraded properly to 3.16 while upgrading the Koha, or the problem could be specific to Koha 3.16.
