Linda,

Yes, manually changing this file without version control is going to
complicate your upgrades.  If you make any changes to you, it's best to use
Git to track those changes.

I'm actually in the process of spec'ing out a method for allowing users to
upload their own XSLT in a way that won't break upgrades.  This would also
solve your problem, likely.
