I too feel like Nicole Engard and most likely many other library professionals, that opening library automation & systems curriculum to incorporate open source is good for faculty and students, the various OSS projects and closest to my heart: libraries and their users.

For the majority of students, this is the first opportunity for hands-on exploration of an open source ILS and they're looking forward to it! I will be encouraging students to subscribe to this listserv, both to observe the discussion and to ask questions as they get to know the system.
