Ok...tried to run it from with the installation directory and the build
directory. Linux/Ubuntu is new to me so I am not totally familiar with
the names of things and locations. Can you just treat me like a I know
nothing and just tell me exact locations? Sorry, I guess I am just being
dense.

run git-apply from any dir *within* your koha3 repo
thats how git-apply works out where to apply the patch ;)
