Dear all Need ur valuable advice on importing of MARC 21 formatted authority data. As u know recently VIAF (Virtual Internation Authority File) project started jointly by Loc, DNB, BnF, and OCLC. The url is http://viaf.org/.
My questions are - Is it possible to import VIAF authority data (MARC 21 formatted authority data) into Koha authority table? Note: I tried to import data through Tools -> Stage MARC record to import and follow the steps. This process imported authority data but I was not clear about how koha imported data - as bibliographic data or as authority data. However, then I tried to the process Tools -> Manage staged MARC record -> Import into catalogue. This activity reported sucessful importing of data. But when I searched catalogue or authirty data, I failed to found the imported authority record. Is there any way to import only MARC 21 authority data from VIAF or Loc either by single record based operation or through batch mode?
