Hi,
This is not exactly what a librarian spends her time reading about, but the article caught my attention... The article: "A Better Grip on Open Source Projects?" http://www.internetnews.com/dev-news/article.php/3803471/A+Better+Grip+on+Op en+Source+Projects.htm New effort by vendor Coverity promises to map over 2,500 open source apps. http://scan.coverity.com/arch/ >From their homepage: "ACCELERATING OPEN SOURCE QUALITY" "In collaboration with Stanford University, Coverity <http://www.coverity.com/> is establishing a new baseline for software quality and security in open source. Under a contract with the Department of Homeland Security, we apply the latest innovations in automated defect detection to uncover some of the most critical types of bugs found in software." " Coverity Architecture Analyzer. The tool uses information gathered during the build of a codebase to create a comprehensive list of interdependencies in the code. These dependencies can be investigated interactively with the Architecture Analyzer desktop application. It can also be used to generate diagrams..." I wonder if adding Koha's code is of any interest to the Koha Project/developers and the rationale for the decision? An invitation to add additional projects is included: use the 'Submit a Request' <http://scan.coverity.com/arch/> link. Does anyone know more about this code analyser? Just curious.. Regards, Irma CALYX information essentials
