yesterday I have installed the last git version of Koha 3.0.x on an Ubuntu
8.10.
Ubuntu 8.10 uses perl 8.10 but I don't find the bug 2309.
I can insert items without problems.
Probably the bug 2309 is solved by the recent operations on XML modules ?
My install data:

MARC::File::XML 0.88
XML::Dumper 0.81 XML::LibXML 1.69

XML::SAX::ParserFactory 1.01

In fact is quite difficult to install an Ubuntu 8.10 with perl 5.8 and
without perl 5.10
