Yeah the first way is pretty much how I fixed it. I don't really like it though I think changing the table name is a better idea. So hopefully that will be the long term fix.
Good news about the release, we are on 5.0.6 plus koha customisations, I'll merge 5.2 in when it's released and we will go to that.
