Hi Stefano, all, I think that it should already be possible to find an authority record by number without mixing up the number with biblio records. Note that 001 Local-number is indexed in auth record.abs. I can find this number by searching with Any in staff client (Auth search: Search all headings). Since the biblio number is not indexed here, it will not be found in this search.
Another thought to add to the discussion: If we need the difference between searching through main headings, all subfields and main headings $a only, why do we not present these four identical options in opac and staff? It seems overkill to me, but please speak up if you need one of the two !
