I had thought about moving it out to a separate function and adding a unit test. It looks like we have C, en_US, fr_FR, and POSIX as locales on koha-testing-docker (based on output of "locale -a"), so I think we could probably compare the output of en_US vs fr_FR. I know we're all low on time, but I've got two deadlines coming up fast and not many work days for them.
