Bug ID: 9298
Summary: default patron privacy option not in use?
Classification: Unclassified
Change sponsored?: ---
Product: Koha
Version: master
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P5 - low
Component: Patrons
Assignee: [email protected]

CC: [email protected], [email protected]
In the "My Privacy" tab in the OPAC, a patron can choose from three options:
- Forever: keep my reading history without limit. This is the option for users
who want to keep track of what they are reading.
- Default: keep my reading history according to local laws. This is the default
option : the library will keep your reading history for the duration permitted
by local laws.
- Never: Delete my reading history immediately. This will delete all record of
the item that was checked-out upon check-in.
Is the default option used for anything currently? If there is nowhere for a
library to define what local laws say, then what is this option doing? Could
it just be removed?
