Since our previous discussion about the version string for the development branch we have had more users confused about what appears to be the 5.1 stable version not being able to open board files created by a nightly version. To this end, I am making an executive decision to change the development branch version tag to 5.99.0 so that it's obvious to users that the development version is newer than the current stable version. I realize that this was not universally popular with all of our package devs but given the number of times this has been an issue for users I cannot continue to ignore this. Before I change the tag, do any of our package devs need any time to prepare. If I don't hear anything by the end of the weekend, I will update the version tag in the master branch on Monday.
