I also think it's an improvement, something which I had in mind. As we have seen there are countless of details which could be changed, but it's difficult to say which are useful. For what it's worth, a bit earlier I used QtDesigner to create a mock-up widget. It has some ideas which could or could not be implemented, do with them what you want.
