Hello, I noticed that to use Eagle's lbr files in Kicad we need to export them from eagle using an ulp (https://github.com/lachlanA/eagle-to-kicad).
I think it would be beneficial to have Kicad read directly the lbr files, as that saves time to the user and doesn't require the user to have Eagle. But I wonder if it is not done due to some licensing issues. I'm posting this to the developers list as I'm not aware if someone is working on something like that, and if nobody knows of it and is a desired feature then I could help developing it.
