Bernhard, I do not think that it is a problem with wxWidget. It might be a peculiarity of OS X. There are a lot of applications that exhibit the same behavior.
I have no idea why OS X keyboard needs to use the command key when the MacBook keyboard has both the “Apple command key” and a control key. I will have to make a list of the apps that behave similarly, but i remember having the same problem running Windows under Parallels for Desktop. I blamed the issue with a crazy mapping of the Apple keyboard.
