Thank you for analysing this... So: heads-up here! I am currently fine building kicad without the scripting features, where everything looks normal for me. Maybe this issue should be documented somewhere for the distro-packagers before they run into the annoyance when they enable the scripting feature. Currently, there seems to be no issue in the "official" Arch package: https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/kicad but: cmake ... -DKICAD_SCRIPTING=ON -DKICAD_SCRIPTING_MODULES=ON -DKICAD_SCRIPTING_WXPYTHON=ON ... might need a manual workaround because the python modules are always installed in the python site package path which will fail without root privileges on linux distros. > You have two options.
