Yes. Any help we can provide our users is a good thing. Something like this should be added to the user documentation either as part of the Pcbnew manual or as a stand alone tutorial. I don't have a preference one way or another so I'll leave that decision to our documentation experts. > > Mario Luzeiro > ________________________________________ > From: Kicad-developers > [kicad-developers-bounces+mrluzeiro=ua...@lists.launchpad.net] on behalf of > easyw [ea...@katamail.com] > Sent: 17 July 2015 02:43 > To: Marcos Chaparro; KiCad Developers > Subject: Re: [Kicad-developers] official web page > > Hi Marcos and all, > > it took me a bit but here is the hackrf-one generated with STEP models > by kicad stepup script and the hackrf-one in kicad 3d-viewer with all > the 3d-models generated from the conversion of the STEP models. > I also checked the geometries of the generated board with models and > there are no problems ... > > The rendering result shows that the two scenarios are exactly the same, > and I didn't get any problem in rendering all the vrml models in kicad. > > generating the 3D modes in FreeCAD will produce a vrml 3D models with no > shading issues and with mechanical respect of all the dimensions > > It would be nice if some of these screenshots could be in the official > web page... > > please let me know what you think > > Maurice > (ps second try in sending the screenshots) > > On 12/07/2015 06.12, Marcos Chaparro wrote: >> Hi Maurice, >> >> here is the HackRF board with 3D models >> http://www.mrkindustries.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/hackrf-one.zip >> >> Most of the footprits are from Walter (smisioto), and located >> in /usr/share/kicad/modules/packages3d/walter/ >> >> Ping me if there is something missing, I didn't try to open the project in >> a different PC. >> >> Have fun, I'm keen to see the result >> >> >> >> Marcos >> >> On Fri, Jul 10, 2015 at 1:01 PM, Marcos Chaparro <nitrous...@gmail.com> >> wrote: >> >>> Oh, I understand. >>> >>> My modified copy of HackRF has more 3D models specified, I'll upload the >>> project somewhere when I get home >>> >>> >>> Marcos >>> >>> On Fri, Jul 10, 2015 at 10:46 AM, easyw <ea...@katamail.com> wrote: >>> >>>> I would like to test kicad stepup script for the hackrf board, so I just >>>> would need the modified file... no 3d models >>>> >>>> >>>> On 10/07/2015 13.31, easyw wrote: >>>> >>>>> Hi Marcos, >>>>> >>>>> I use to get the Walter's models too >>>>> >>>>> the .brd file that I can download from >>>>> http://sourceforge.net/projects/hackrf/files/?source=navbar >>>>> >>>>> has only some sot23.wrl file associated to pcb footprints... >>>>> so what I'm asking you is, if possible, to receive the hackrf-one.brd or >>>>> hackrf-one.kicad_pcb file with the 3d models associated to footprints... >>>>> >>>>> thank you >>>>> Maurice >>>>> >>>>> On 10/07/2015 12.25, Marcos Chaparro wrote: >>>>> >>>>>> Hi Maurice, >>>>>> What do you mean by 3d models name?
