I'm on Debian 7 and was using 2.8 until a week or two ago, but switched from the wx 2.8 binary package to a binary package recently to add antialiasing support. After encountering the Linux 3.0.1 DRC crash, I switched to a from-source build of 3.0.1+ SVN HEAD which has the issue patched.
