I just confirmed that this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kicad/+bug/1349421
is indeed valid. It seems that the default grid setting in the "Schematic Editor Options" dialog is ignored and the grid setting when Eeschema was last closed is used on restart. This is IMO the desired behavior rather then starting with the default setting. This makes the default grid size configuration option confusing and useless.
