Interesting. Maybe that's why I've never seen this issue. I always set up Thunderbird to compose messages in plain text. When I want to compose an HTML message, I just hold the shift key and click the appropriate button (Write, Reply, etc.) and Thunderbird will switch to HTML mode. This trick works the opposite way as well. > > You can set the default via > Tools->Account Settings, Select account > > Inside the Composition and addressing tab there is a checkbox for setting > HTML as the default (which you probably don't want). > > This solved it for me. > > Regards, > Martijn > > On Apr 10, 2013, at 9:19 PM, Dick Hollenbeck <d...@softplc.com> wrote: > >> For over a year now, emails that I send out are having spaces removed >> from them. >> This makes me look stupider and blinder than I really am. >> >> This is on Thunderbird 17.0.5 and several version previous. >> >> Theproblem has alsosurvived afull upgrade from Ubuntu Lucid to >> Pristine and several upgrades of Thunderbird. >> >> You write a sentence, perhaps hit the backspace key to correct >> something, maybe add a space, and then when everything looks fine, you >> send. >> >> When the email arrives at the recipient, or even in the "sent" folder, >> there are missing spaces. >> >> Any help is appreciated.
