Thanks for the answer Miguel, it's the same hack I made. Some trickier linker error results as well:
Linking CXX shared module _pcbnew.so /usr/bin/ld: ../3d-viewer/lib3d-viewer.a(3d_aux.cpp.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC Google point to multiple of faults, CMake and Boost included.
