Excellent. Don't forget that the library module files must also be in these new units. Also, some way of resnapping metric parts to their true positions (e.g. BGAs with metric pad spacing) needs to be done. If we can get to the point that some of the legacy stuff is removed, I would like to find some point at which a good baseline exists for an experimental branch. Then I can rebase the work I did a year ago on this new experimental branch (minus the legacy stuff of course) and we can start making pcbnew a superior tool. The only other legacy change that I ran into that I changed a year ago was the number of layers and their representation. You know, the 32-bit bit mask for layers.
