Hi,
I notice from the latest snapshot that some of the code from QUCS has
been modified and incorporated into the PCB_CALCULATOR plug in. Will
this collaboration continue or is it a one off effort? Is there any
involvement of Stefan Jahn and Michael Margraf. I only ask as I would
really like it if both Kicad and QUCS where able to work together. It
would be great if we could simulate our circuits from within Kicad and
then make a PCB afterwards. Am I building up my hopes too much?

David.

Sorry for the delay in answering, but I was busy last weeks.

Currently, there is no involvement of Stefan Jahn and Michael Margraf for Pcb
Calculator.

Pcb Calculator is a first attempt to add some tools in Kicad, relative to
signal integrity analysis.
And, I must say, mainly for me the opportunity to learn more about transmission
lines.
(I recently had to work on boards that needed well designed transmissions lines
between 2 hight speed integrated circuits)

Having say this, I believe a collaboration between Michael Margraf and us
should be a very good thing.
Michael Margraf already uses Pcbnew and Gerbview in QucsStudio.

This is not yet an official collaboration, but this is mainly due to a lack of
time
I am thinking this is true for Guys of Qucs and Kicad teams,.
Some time ago I was already contacted by one of authors of Qucs to collaborate.
Obviously, I was agreed.
But, due to this lack of time, there is no actual work about this.
