My honest 2 cents: The problem with mailing lists and the launchpad are following:
Everybody get's notifications, even for issues that doesn't matter to them - Some people don't care much about management related-stuff. That is why I think we elected a board and we delegated responsibilities between ourselves. The same goes for developments in our projects - As long as it is done, some people may not be interesting hearing about them. Launchpad congregates too many information and most of it isn't that useful - besides, it's public since one can search for Kibo online and check our Launchpad page. I'm not saying we should ignore. But most of those blueprints were already discussed and agreed on in some way.
