Question of location relevance for code. Currently Debian.py decides on the filenames that the gzip list index files will have when extracted, yet is this really part of platform definition (as in Redhat, Mandriva, Slackware do it differently 'Packages.gz != Packages') or can this be done by the extracter inside download.py (Packages.gz always extracts to Packages in same dir)? This would simplify download.py API for the checksums.
I'm hoping to have the checksums done by Tuesday :) -jacseen
